It's a great book! It covers every tractor that wore the 'Farmall' decals, and also carries a number of original ads and other memorabilia. It doesn't go into depth on any tractors, so if you're looking for reading/information on a single model or series it wouldn't be the best book for that. But like the 'Bigger Book of John Deere Tractors', it should be required reading for antique tractor fans!

This book is everything we were looking for when choosing a book for our son. He requested one that would have complete descriptions and pictures of farmall tractors starting with the very old and antique models to later models. This had it all. He enjoys it very much and it could be a coffee table book to enjoy over and over. Our whole family enjoyed looking and reading it from cover to cover.

My 84 year old uncle ran an International Harvester store in the 1950's in a small rural Minnesota city. Once about 10 years ago I gave him a "John Deere" photo frame as a gift and that is when I got the low down on FARMALL! -) My uncle is a real Farmall "Red" tractor man. So after I got educated, it has been my mission to include this red tractor on birthday cards, a coffee mug and whatever else red tractor appropriate comes my way. This year for some reason I wondered if there was a book that would go into the history of Farmall Tractors? I found this book on and read some of the reviews--all favorable and took a chance ordering the soft cover book having it sent to me first. It is truly a great book for memories it has detailed pictures, advertisements and pictures of Farmall toys. The paperback book is rugged--really a nice one. My uncle is so thrilled with it he couldn't stop thanking me. It is a winner!
I bought this for a friend who has used Farmall's on his farm, collects and loves everything Farmall. He was nearly in tears as he turned the pages with recollections of owning different ones through the years, and loved this book.
When I need to get information on a particular Farmall model I pull this book off my shelf. The book is well written and has excellent color photos. But, if I have one criticism it's that the book is weak on the tractors of the 1970's. It seems like the author lost interest in anything that came after the mid-60's 806 which is definitely a fantastic tractor. If this book could be updated to give the 1970's tractors their due then this would be a perfect book.
This is an excellent history book. It covers history beginning about 1850 when Cyrus McCormick invented his harvesting machine, through the closing of one of our greatest companies ever, International Harvester. Excellent color photos throughout. Also excellent "side" stories, which tie in what was happening at IH with what was happening in the rest of the US and the world.
